Both the bride and groom must be free to marry. If either party has been married previously, they must consult with a priest/deacon and ensure that they are free to marry in the eyes of the Catholic Church.
Wedding dates can be requested by contacting the parish office at least six months in advance, but not more than two years from the requested date.
To reserve a date on the church calendar a deposit is required. This deposit is refundable if the wedding is canceled. The deposit is $200* for parishioners of St. Pius X ** and $400* for non-parishioners. *If any church fees pose a financial hardship, please speak with the pastor. **A parishioner is a registered and contributing member of the parish for at least one year prior to the wedding date. Sons or daughters of parishioners are considered parishioners of St. Pius X.
We strive to give priority for dates and times of weddings to parishioners. Non-parishioners will be given the choice of a Friday evening, Saturday morning at 11:30am or before, or a Sunday evening wedding when the request is more than 6 months in advance. Within six months of the requested date, the time may be changed to a later time on Saturday if available.
If another Rochester parish is under construction and the pastor of that church requests the use of St. Pius X, the above will not apply.
Weddings are discouraged during Lent due to the solemnity of this church season. Weddings will not be scheduled on Christmas Eve or Day or the weekend of Easter.
No date will be considered final until all the marriage preparation requirements have been completed.
